Real people. Real life. Really good coffee!

Over twenty years ago my husband, Steve and I started brewing up something special that now has filled countless cups to overflowing.  We became aware of this strictly off premise espresso bar thing back in Colorado when my husband and another roadie did just that.  Mike, a notable pro-cyclist from the Denver area owned this kind of specialty catering business that was well presented and well received.  So much so that when Steve was asked to moonlight on the off season of racing it was a shoe (clipped) in.  They served at the owner’s home of the back-to-back Superbowl Champions’ (in ‘98, &’99) for a holiday party~ among many other memorable occasions back in the day.  But Mike moved to Europe to do some coaching there and we migrated to the east where I’m from, the lush and rolling hills of Pennsylvania.  Steve moved right in and became the State Criterium Champion for our first three years there in ‘02,’03, and ‘04.  He also took Best all around rider (the BAR) in points in ‘02 & ‘03, while being the Pa State Time Trial Champion in 2003.  He wouldn’t offer this up because he is a gentleman, but he never did receive much acclaim for all the espresso that this demanded- lol . And discipline, and absolutely CLEAN racing!

Two things changed.  We found out we were having our second child of four more yet to come(!), and the reality hit that we would need more diapers than trophies.   So, naturally, when we were offered the equipment needed to start up this business it just seemed right.  I myself, had a business degree and a dozen years in the bar and restaurant industry, so, this type of bar would be a kick!  Brand new beginnings and a fresh wind blowing in from Boulder that would allow us to be flexible and still  free to ride!  We’ll never forget the season of minivans and carseats and cold-call canvassing~ and scepticism... to which I replied, “where’s your vision, ‘build it-and they will come’!’  As we hit a new city and state again and again.  Or my father, well meaning of course, saying, “this is a really nice idea, Angela, but don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t take off”.  And, I can’t blame his limited thinking when you consider the lack of comparison.  If you’d never been to NYC or Philly you wouldn’t know there was an up and coming young ‘Buck' out there serving strong coffee and the like.  In glassware, or cups ”to-go” !   imagine!   Kudos to them~and thanks, a latte!

And we could get a “warm-er upper”(as my dad would also say), or a refill in my case, and carry on, but for now, let’s make sure we got this:  We are real people, doing real life, and offering you really good coffee...right to your doorstep, your special day, your reveal, your corporate meeting…’till YOUR  cup overflows!
